Palera1n 2.2 Released with Support for iPadOS 18.4 and tvOS 18.4

Palera1n 2.2 / checkm8 bases jailbreak released with Support for iPadOS 18.4 and tvOS 18.4

Earlier today, palera1n 2.2 was officially released, bringing expanded support to more devices and operating system versions.

What’s New

With this update, palera1n now supports:

  • iPadOS 18.4 and later — iPad (7th Generation)
  • tvOS 18.4 and later — Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K (1st Generation)

This means that owners of the iPad 7th Generation can now jailbreak the latest version of iPadOS, while Apple TV users on tvOS 18.4 are also covered.

Important Notes

  • Checkm8-based jailbreak: palera1n relies on the checkm8 exploit, which means it only supports devices up to A11 (it does not work on arm64e / A12+).
  • Internal changes in 18.4: Apple made significant modifications in iOS/iPadOS 18.4. As a result, tweak compatibility may be worse than on earlier versions like 18.3.2.
  • FakeFS/BindFS users: If you are still running a FakeFS/BindFS setup (on iOS/iPadOS), make sure your device has been booted at least once with palera1n 2.0.1–2.1b2. Without this, it will not work on palera1n 2.2 or later.

Palera1n continues to be the go-to jailbreak for checkm8-compatible devices, and this release ensures that even with Apple’s latest updates, the iPad 7th Generation and older Apple TVs remain jailbreakable.
