How To Save Get SHSH2 Blobs for iOS 10 Downgrade iPhone iPad iPod using TicketBox on macOS.
Blobs are used for signing Apple IOS firmwares done through the iTunes or similar update software.
Erase blobs are used for full iTunes restores.
Update blobs are used for iTunes updates.
OTA Blobs update are used to update via idevice iPhone, iPod , iPad over the air.
The type of blob TU pulls from the device (A7 & A8 devices) in the “fetch on device” feature is based on how you arrived at your current iOS for which you are fetching blobs.
If you got there via OTA update, you’ll get the OTA SHSH off the device. If you restored in iTunes, you’ll get the erase SHSH from the device. If you updated in iTunes, you’ll get the update SHSH from the device.
For iOS versions Apple is currently signing, TU should fetch several OTA blobs, an erase, and an update blob for 8.2, for example. They should all be useful for the future tool which will utilize replaying these SHSH blobs to restore to the same firmware and possibly downgrades? which Apple isn’t signing, hopefully whenever it is released.
Edit: and I’m not sure yet if you’ll be able to, for example, use OTA or update blobs for iTunes restores or erase blobs for updates. -sorry, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
